Pre/Post Natal Services
Nurturing Families is a free, confidential service for all first-time parents living in New Haven. Caring for a baby is one of the most rewarding things a parent will ever do. They are beginning a journey that will be exciting, yet, at times, difficult and stressful. Our caring staff will listen to parents' concerns and help care for the baby. This service offers connections to various resources such as but not limited to: transportation. housing and childcare resources within the community.

Home Visiting Services and Resource Connections

First-time parents meet other parents and make new friends. Learn about ways to solve parenting issues and learn more about their bay and themselves. A home visitor come to client's homes to assist with care for the child and deal with the many demands of becoming a new parent.

Home visitors:


* Listen to parent's concerns

* Knows about and understands the challenges of being parents

*Provides social support and community referrals

*Teaches clients about how the child grows and learns
